Error in XI Cache Connectivity Test

Hi, I am seeing the same issue as posted here 7 years ago. We are running PO (single stack) 7.31 SP14. We noticed that changes to mappings weren't evident when testing the interfaces. I checked the ID cache and found that a lot of notifications had been performed but not actually completed.

When processed manually, (repeating the update) the cache update works and eveything is OK. .

When performing a Cache Connectivity Test the tests for the Central Adapter Engine and the Mapping Runtime start but do not complete. Image may be NSFW.

When checking the cache status in the ID I can see the cache updates for this test have not completed.. So I processed them manually they complete and all the icons on the Cache Connectivity Test turn green.

When looking in the NWA log at the same time as the cache connectivity test I can see the following error 'SWCV ID: bc680ca1924311d9bb93d52d0a126213 does not exist in Enterprise Service Repository and System Landscape Directory'

I then checked the cache object view on the ID and came across the SWCV. Looking closely in the comprehensive description field I can see the text .Connectivity Test Component.

In my humble opinion this looks like a SAP component/error etc. Has anyone seen this before?

I have created a SAP Customer Message for this issue but I am looking for some further information.

Looking forward to your replies.

Advice when upgrading

Hi

I will be shortly upgrading from SAP NW PO 7.31 SP8 to SP14. I am currently reviewing the changes I can expect to see but I am looking for advice.

Are there any bugs or surprises I should be aware of. Anything I should prepare for? Anything that may cause delays during the handover process? Does anyone in the community have simiar experience?

I hope it will be a smooth upgrade but I like to be prepared

Hi,

I'm in a SAP PI Dual Stack implementation (Vs 7.4 sp10). The system has just been instaled, and I can't see the Integration Engine I only see the Adapter Engine. Also I'm not able to find the XI or Idoc adapter in the Communication Channel options in ID. Would someone have a clue of what could be wrong with the system?

Any help would be appreciated

PO 7.4 - Testing payload from "Configuration and Monitoring Home"

Hello,

I am working on PO 7.4. I want to test a payload from "Configuration and Monitoring Home". However, in the "Testing" tab, the option to test the payload is not available. Is this option not available in PO 7.4? Only cache connectivity test exists. I have attached a screenshot for reference. Image may be NSFW.

Split issue: Synchronous call from single PI system to multiples ECC client

Hi Expert,

We have a requirement to use single PI system for multiples ECC system. This is working fine for Asynchronous scenario. I am having issue for synchronous scenario. When I try to trigger one input file through SOAP UI synchronously, it gives an error at sender SOAP adapter level: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Unable to split a synchronous message

Could you please help me if single PI system to multiples ECC system is possible for synchronous scenario.

Thanks in advance!

File Merge in BPM?

Hello Everyone,

We are on SAP PO 7.4 single stack.

As part of a requirement, we have to do file merge (of files coming from multiple sources) in BPM and send it back to PI.

For example:

  • We have File1 [X number of fields.. field1, field2, field3] being picked from legacy_system_1 by PI and sent to BPM
  • After 30mins (lets say), we have File2 [Y number of fields.. field1, field4, field5] being picked from legacy_system_2 by PI and sent to BPM
  • BPM does the merging part. The output file should have 5 fields [field1, field2, ...field5] and sent back to PI

I know this can be done in BPM via writing a custom EJB function. But, I want to know if there is a standard way to do file merge in BPM (not ccBPM). Probably a standard (FileMerge) pattern that can be leveraged?

Thanks,

Sai

Based on some research, i tried below approach:

>>>>http://<server>:<port>/nwa > “Configuration” > “Infrastructure” > “Java System Properties” > Select the service “XPI Service: AII Config Service” > The property “com.sap.aii.ibrep.core.usage_type” was be set to “AEX” >>>> When we have changed it to "", there are other issues popping up in PI.

Does anyone know what we are missing?

Display Adobe forms on Sharepoint

Hi Experts,

Currently i am working on SAP TRM project where they have Adobe forms for the multiple business processes.

We have requirement that we need to display those Adobe forms developed in SAP TRM system on the Sharepoint , also the values to be entered in the adobe form from sharepoint which should be flow to SAP TRM.

I want to ask that whether it is possible with SAP PO 7.4 ??

I have read that there is some ADS configuration in SAP PO.

If this requirement is possible then how or NO then how the ADS configuration works ??

Re: Disconnecting OLD PI system & Connecting ECC to new PI system (via Proxy)

Hi Gurus

We are correctly on PI 7.1 which is connected to ECC for PROXY communication.

However, we have a new PI 7.3 and would like to disconnect PI 7.1 and connect it to the new PI 7.3.

Can you please let me know - Best practice to disconnect old PI Box -

  • Is it just deleting the RFC and removing config from SXMB_ADM ?!
  • Would the below steps cover all the necessary config to connect the new PI 7.3 environment to ECC
    • SLD Entries in PI
    • SM59 HTTP Connections
    • SXMB_ADM Config
    • SLDCHECK

Please, ADD anything I might have missed!!

Your help is greatly appreciated!!

Thank you,

Ritu

Principal Propagation between AEX and BPM in PO

Hi

Currently we propagate the principal (user) which calls the soap adapter in PI 7.1.1 to a BPM process running on CE 7.4, the same user is propagated to to the backend systems.

All the authentication takes place using logon tickets and is possible because of the trust relationships between PI and CE and CE and the backend systems.

We have upgraded our CE 7.4 system to be a PO 7.4 system and we are about to migrate our interfaces from our PI 7.1.1 to the AEX of our 7.4 PO system, so that we have our BPM's and interfaces on the same system.

At the moment, the call between PI 7.1.1 and CE is done using WS-RM and the abap based WS-Adapter and the authentication between PI 7.1.1 and CE 7.4 is happening using SAP Logon Tickets.

Now, we want to migrate the interfaces and we want to use XI3 for the communication between AEX and BPM. Furthermore we have to keep the principal propagation working.

My question is how to set this up in a PO system?

Presumably there is no trust needed between AEX and BPM as it is the same SID.

I can't configure anything in the endpoint of the BPM process as it is a XI3 endpoint.

On the AEX side, in the SOAP XI3 reciever channel there is no option to send logon tickets, I can only choose logon tickets if I use an http Destination in the channel.

I expected that if I use Xi3 and have principal propagation enabled on the sender and receiver side of the ICO which calls the BPM over XI3, that the user would be propagated to auto-magically, however I am getting an authentication error when the BPM gets called because no SSO2 ticket is found.

I can't find any documentation regarding the propagation of users from AEX to BPM.

Any advice or ideas welcome

A.

NIPING Connection Test on Single Java AEX system

Hello,

Earlier, on dual stack PI system, I used transaction SM69 & NIPING commando to check if our PI system has connection to another system. Today we run single Java AEX system (without ABAP engine). How could I now perform NIPING/TELNET commando to check connection to another system? Due to policy rules with our hosting provider: I don't want to log on to our operating system AIX and perform TELNET commando. Is there a procedure to take NIPING (or similar) on SAP PI/PO Java application layer?

Alerting of message orchestration in transactional situations

Hi All,

Just wondering if there is a standard/encouraged pattern for managing retries of BPM's within a process orchestration.  For example, a bulk extract is sent async to PO which requires a couple of web services to be called in a row (say a synchronous lookup followed by a synchronous update). Maybe the second update fails due to missing data in the called system, or the system is unavailable. We want to be able to use the standard set of alerting tools (via Sol Man) to alert either a technical user who can then clear the alert so that the service can be executed again or alternatively cancelled and manually handled.

For reference, I wouldn't want to structure a BPMN and user task around this as a solution as that would complicate the scenario unecessarily in my mind (requiring additional tasks to be populated in our UWL (which is the ERP POWL and doesn't have connectivity to BPM), and I'm hoping interim or end events (which have a type of error) would be usable.

I've tried to find something but struggling to find anything in the community or help material and for reference, I'm one of those architects who doesn't necessarily get his hands too dirty, so forgive me for not trying out a few options and providing a candidate approach. If there's a good example in the sample patterns, just point me at that.

Thanks,

Matt

iDoc to HTTP_AAE - sm58 ASJ.ejb.005043

Hello,

We are currently migrating our old PI 7.11 dual-stack system to a 7.4 single-stack system. For the moment, I migrated my first scenario by creating my first iflow in NWDS. This is an iDoc to HTTP communication, the destination is configured with a party (scheme ALE#LI#BA). After deploying and transporting to our quality system, the interface doesn't work unfortunately. The error I'm getting in sm58 is:

Commit fault: ASJ.ejb.005043 (Failed in component:  sap.com/com.sap.aii.ad

The log shows this error:

[JRA] serverExceptionOccurred. Server XI_IDOC_<RFC>, Managed_Application_Thread_46,

connectionId=3-poq|sapgw01|XI_IDOC_<RFC>, Exception: com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (104)

sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.idoc.app*xml|com.sap.aii.adapter.idoc.ejb.jar*xml|IDocReceiverBean

in application sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.idoc.app.; nested exception is:

com.sap.conn.idoc.IDocRuntimeException: Error while send to module processor

(raised by system ...)

I already found quite some resources about similar issues but these haven't worked for me. What I already tried/checked:

- manually checked the generated ICO

- tested the sender and receiver communication channels - both OK

- reloaded the iDoc metadata

- checked if the sent iDoc of R/3 is the same as the source iDoc configured in the ICO

- Checked the adapter-specific settings of the source Business system

- according to this thread https://scn.sap.com/thread/3743245, I should change the JavaIdocAdapter resource:

Persistance = true (this was already the case)

AutoNumberFromDB = true (this was configured in our system as false, I changed it to true and retested but the error persisted. Afterwards changed it back to false)

- checked if the SNDPRN node of the iDoc is filled in correctly

The most usefull threads/blogs I checked:

Also found some notes, but I don't think the apply to the problem we're experiencing:

- 1952406 No Service configured for key

- 1872390 Handling invalid XML characters

- 1938302 java.lang.NullPointerException: Name is null

Any help will be greatly appreciated! I've spend quite some time investigating, but for the moment I'm all out of ideas.

Best regards,

Maarten
